Three months beneath the Rhône

Each cuvée is immersed for three months on the bed of the Rhône, between Lyon and the mouth of the river. Constant cold, total darkness, the ceaseless rocking of the water: the very conditions the Romans sought to age their great wines.

The divers of SIDON

Immersion and raising are entrusted to SIDON, a Lyon company specialised in subaquatic and hyperbaric works. We chose it for the quality of its work, its know-how — and above all its regulatory compliance: SIDON operates under Hyperbaric Certification Mention A, the legal framework required for professional diving in France.

Real divers, a real river, a real depth.

An object raised from the river

After three months, the divers descend again to fetch the wine. We do not deliver a bottle: we raise an object from the river — each amphora dressed in its concretions, numbered, dated, accompanied by its immersion record.
